Series: Connecting with others – 1: Dr.Rosie Plunkett

Art Therapy Supervision

Eileen O’Sullivan (24 March 2020), “Series: Connecting with others – 1: Dr.Rosie Plunkett”,  21.0 x 29.7cm, Marker on Paper, Dublin Ireland.

Away from work, out of routine, out of contact with friends, I used drawing as a way to keep focused. I used Instagram to reach out to others : “Send me a selfie and I will try to draw it”.

The first piece I completed was this of Dr.Rosie Plunkett, a dear friend, an excellent Psychiatrist and someone who, for me, is the ultimate advocate for mental wellbeing.

An hour kept busy, an hour well spent, this activity allowed me to connect with others via social media and to do something I love to do – Draw.

Eileen, I am just loving this idea! I have made portraits of friends myself and I relate fully to your description of this is a connecting practice.I wrote about the strengthening and deepening of relationships as part of this process. When I look at your art work I feel your love for your friend emanating. Thank you so much for sharing.
