Hadassah Lily works in independent practice as an Expressive Therapist & Educator. She provides therapeutic companionship and guidance for couples, children, families and schools.
Facilitator’s Statement
I have over 20 years’ experience working with children, adolescents and families in private practice, as well as in secondary school and early years classrooms. I continue to support children and staff in schools with their social and emotional connection and learning.
While many of our experiences are shared, our responses to them are unique. The Expressive Therapies approach supports the innate knowing and capability within each person to heal and grow.
Expressive Therapies offers a wide range of stimulus material to support your natural intelligence, creative expression, and emotional release. Experiences include sandplay & symbol work, stories & archetypes, movement & drawing, relaxation & somatic awareness, contemplation & integration.
One of the reasons I work in private practice is to protect the values of safe, sustainable, mindful, and responsive practice that holds quality over quantity. These values support me to intuitively follow your innate drive towards wholeness via your unique expression of yourself, within a therapeutic relationship of acceptance, commitment, care, and compassion.
In addition to my formal studies, I have had the pleasure of exploring many paths that have supported me to stay true to practicing presence in each new day. The first was Yoga. My teacher would farewell us at the end of the day with the words, “Go Slow!” They echo like a mantra in my head every time I catch myself rushing, or in autopilot.
While teaching yoga, I began a 15-year journey along the path of meditation including Ageless Wisdom studies by Lucille Cedercrans and the Buddhist path of inner refuge. Recently, I have journeyed with the Gene Keys by Richard Rudd, and the path of contemplation. I will soon be ready to be Gene Keys Guide. I have found this path to be a wonderful synthesis of all that went before, and its fluid structure supports me to apply wisdom more simply in my work, daily life, and relationships.

Sand Tray & Expressive Therapy offers a wide range of stimulus material to suit your natural intelligence, creative expression, and emotional release. Symbols are imbued with unique meaning by each person and can support understanding without the need for many words. Working with symbols can also help to externalise our experiences and internal narratives, so we can better make sense of our world. (NB: therapist does not analyse or interpret)
