This piece I started during the 2020 bush fire and completed during Covid 19 lockdown.
The title Fire and Water represents both periods.
The flower represents nature on fire (which I first completed without the blue).
The blue water represents the emotions of grief which have intensified during COVID 19 lockdown as I witness and tune into the death occurring in the world.
The birds represent the coming of the rains and rebirth after surpassing death and grief.

Anna, in sitting with your art work, more than anything, i feel sensations of energy and flow. It literally seems to pulsate and carry my eyes from place to place and then back around again! What I am left with is a rocking in my body, like the steady beat of a rhythmic song.
