FELTING FIBRES INTO BEING with Megan Fromholtz

Felting Fibres into Being

The sensory nature of felting has many appeals to all ages, abilities and situations.

Whether you are creating felt yourself, to use in imaginative play, or guiding clients through the felting journey to find some treasures for themselves, you are bound to have a fun soapy time in this hands on workshop with Creative Arts Therapist and Primary School Teacher, Megan Fromholtz.

Transform fleece into felt.  Find softness in the fibres as you layer them up for the wet felting technique. Find strength as you manipulate those strands into one another becoming a whole piece.

Finish off with some needle felting at the end to see the possibilities of dry felting too.

About Megan

Megan Fromholtz has been a primary school arts teacher for 16 years and completes her Master of Therapeutic Arts practice in 2023. Megan is very much looking forward to launching her thriving practice “Be You Creative Therapy” in January 2024. She wishes to share this felting technique with you because she has witnessed the art of felting as a soft yet powerful connecting process for people whilst working together. Megan has developed a deep feel for felting as a therapeutic creation process – rather than straight visual arts education – and is looking forward to sharing these insights with you at the 2024 Creative Mental Health Forum and Self Care Retreat.

We are thrilled to welcome Megan as one of our arts-based self-care workshop facilitators on Sunday 5th May at the 2024 Creative Mental Health Forum and Self Care Retreat.

The documentary of this year's event provides a glimpse into what it means to participate in the Creative Mental Health Forum:
