COCOON IN SOUND: a Journey into Connection with Minky van der Walt

To cocoon: “to envelop in a protective or comforting way” (Oxford languages).

Music offers a natural cocoon of comfort, predictability and containment.

With its multifaceted and endless permutations of moving forward, slowing down, resting, stretching, expressing, and connecting inside, outside and in between, music can meet us wherever we are.

Join us in the beautiful acoustics of Saltwater House to meet yourself in the moment as you connect to  ground, body and sound.

In this nurturing and experiential workshop, you will be guided to safely switch off, connect inwards and focus on your needs through:

music-assisted breathing practices

connection to your embodied experience

connection to place and others

progressive relaxation approaches, and

guided listening and imagery focuses

Minky joins us on Sunday 7th May at the 2023 Creative Mental Health Forum to facilitate this cocooning journey into connection through sound.
