“Art Therapy First Aid: Experiential Video Workshop”.

Art Therapy Supervision
A Professional Development training resource for Art Therapists and friends of Art Therapy.

I am very happy to launch this new FREE training video! This is based on live footage filmed at the February Art Therapy First Aid training event in Geelong.

Big thank yous are in order, especially to Chris Storm who helped to make this training happen, and Chas Jagger who filmed and put the video together.

As a very special treat, Cornelia Elbrecht makes a guest appearance and shares some of her wisdom with us all!

Thanks also to Michelle Morgan who provided us with live music on the day, some of which has made its way into this video, and music credits to Meydän for the background track.

I’d also like to mention Amanda Woodford who sowed the idea of making an online version of this training so that the ripple effects can keep expanding more and more broadly.

Thank you from me!

The original workshop was a fundraising event in response to the 2020 Australian bushfires, so, in keeping with the spirit of caring, sharing, and keeping our art therapy community connected, supported and resilient, I am making it available here FOR FREE online.

The video has been designed to be highly experiential, with loads of art based activities for you to pause the video and engage with. I suggest you watch it together with a friend or a small group and share the experience either in person or online. You will need to allow 2.5 hours to include doing all the activities.

  • Adapt the core principles of psychological first aid into art therapeutic responses.
  • Engage in ELEVEN CREATIVE EXPERIENTIAL ART ACTIVITIES.
  • Imagine the possibilities for working with your own community.
I hope you will watch with friends and have some fun.

Please enjoy, and comment, I love to receive your feedback.

With love,

Carla.
