My art work is painted in watercolour on A 3 watercolour paper with layering of felt tip pen and pastel pencils washed with water.
I painted this as a reflection of my inner world. Being at home is a clear intention and also, a civic duty for the greater good. It has offered me space to listen deeply, to meditate and to recognise my emotions. I listen a lot to Tara Brach and she teaches the acronym RAIN. To recognise, to acknowledge, to investigate and to nurture. I came to recognise my feeling of helplessness, of vulnerability, of grief and deep sadness……. and this image came forth. My walk with uncertainty, of trees uprooted, the sense of normality shaken, trusting, going with the flow but yearning for equilibrium. Yet, beyond there is light behind the trees….. That each day I wake and walk with uncertainty with everyone else in the world. And therein lies hope as well. We do it together. We walk together and there is light behind the trees because we will find a way collectively. So i
I have named the painting WALK.
